How to Write a Good Wattpad Story?
Important lessons for writing a story.
INTRODUCTION OF THE COURSE
Have you ever dreamed of writing a book and people are being fully interested in it? You might have some idea of writing in your mind that are new and no one ever mentioned before. The place you can improve your writing and have the feeling of being an author will be a storytelling platform Wattpad. From this, you can find some real motivation to write because you can see how was your work and people’s comments written on it. All of these opportunities will be given by publishing your story on Wattpad. If you want to start writing, Wattpad is the best place to get experience. For those who have never heard of Wattpad, I wrote its brief introduction down here.
What is Wattpad?
Wattpad is a free platform for writers and readers to share and read stories in a variety of genres. Now, it has more than 70 million users, and 65 million of them are monthly users. As of 2018, over 400 million stories written in 50 languages uploaded on this platform. Also, it is an internet community for those who are willing to write and read directly interact with each other by leaving a comment and reply to the story, which makes Wattpad more widely used throughout the world. Another good feature is while you are offline, you can still write some drafts and read your saved stories. Therefore, the things you need to do are just grab your phone or computer and download the application.
If you decide to write on Wattpad, you have to know the following things.
What kinds of stories are being read more frequently on wattpad?
When you open wattpad, you will see “What’s Hot List”. There will be a full of Romance Fiction. Certainly, love is the most common topic in writing, movies, and music. Especially, the teen romance stories that are much similar to each other are being overwritten on wattpad. If you are writing for the first time, romance will be a good choice but you have to come up with a fresh and unique one that differs from millions of others’ stories.
Also, wattpad is very popular as its fanfictions. Before wattpad, people were reading fanfictions from the author’s personal blogs. It used to take a lot of work to read them because you have to know those all the links to those different stories. Wattpad has given many conveniences to the readers and also authors. As I see, the fanfictions of Harry styles and K-pop artists are very common. Idols and stars come out every day newly, you can choose a new star in people’s attention or one who is already famous. It’s up to you. Writing fanfiction is quite easy to get popular and you don’t need to worry about whether you get an audience if you choose the right person and write it well.
Furthermore, people like to read fantasy story but I hope they get completely fed up with werewolf and vampire right now. Wattpad has even separated the werewolf stories in a new category for the readers’ convenience. That shows how many stories with werewolf have been written.
What stories are needed to write?
People are indeed are looking for a good romance and fantasy stories so they are reading them even if they are not so well written. If you want to challenge yourself, you can pick those cliché stories that are teen romance and fantasies with werewolves to write something different. However, why does the romance only have to happen between a bad boy and a good girl? Why does every fantasy have werewolf? You can create much more than that. Of course, some stories are very fascinating and dissimilar to others but they are not so many as you think. Also, many genres are used less but people want to read if they find a good one. For instance, mystery, horror, and thriller.
Are you ready to write?
A good beginning will be the source of motivation to continue writing. So I want your first work to be not discouraging. First publishing is very memorable for the authors that they might remember forever or make a decision on whether they will continue to write or not. Therefore, I would like to teach how to write a good story on Wattpad. People can learn from their own mistake but the wisest way is learning from others’ mistakes earlier.
What is a good story?
A good story is what the readers want to read till the end with a few breaks. If you write a good story, people will anticipate your next chapter with all their hearts. It should flow with coherence while holding readers’ interest and should have uniqueness and is not easily forgotten from the readers’ minds. Three years ago, I read a really good story, and I am still remembering the main parts and some of the emotions I got from that story. Moreover, if you write a good story, I could be read more than once by one reader. People will recommend your story to each other, that’s why good authors don’t advertise their story much. Imagine that people are asking your story from someone and want to know who wrote it. You can get it if you really do write well. Don’t let your inspiration and energy burn by writing carelessly. The result might make you lose your hope to continue writing. I will try to help you to be encouraged by your writing so follow the lessons I am going to teach.
